Dr. Heidemarie Paulitsch is the founder and name partner of PAULITSCH LAW – one of Austria’s first law firms specialising in white collar crime and compliance in Vienna/Austria. As a recognised compliance expert for over 20 years and active in criminal defence for 15 years, she is regarded as one of the most respected figures in these fields.
Even during her studies, Dr. Paulitsch focused on criminal law and corporate law. Her doctoral thesis on Compliance and Corporate Criminal Law was rooted in practical experience: she worked both in the legal department of an international Group (pulp & paper industry) and at renowned law criminal and corpoarte law firms, such as the defense boutique Soyer & Partner. She practised as a lawyer at the leading business law firms Wolf Theiss and Schoenherr attorneys at law. At Schoenherr, she played a key role in building the White Collar Crime and Compliance practice group for Central and Eastern Europe.
With the founding of the law firm PAULITSCH LAW in 2016, she set a new benchmark for specialised criminal law advice. The law firm maintains an exclusive focus on White Collar Crime and Compliance.
Dr. Paulitsch is known as a reliable partner with deep practical expertise. Her book “Practical Guide to House Searches” (Praxishandbuch Hausdurchsuchung, in its second edition and has become a well-established reference work in the legal field.
As Head of the “White Collar Crime” section of the legal journal ecolex – Journal of Business Law (Manz Verlag), Dr. Paulitsch is responsible for all contributions in her area and publishes regularly articles – always in step with current legislation, case law and academic debate.
Dr. Paulitsch is also a highly regarded speaker and lecturer – from podcasts and webinars to workshops and professional conferences. Her expertise in the Austrian legal market is undisputed: for 15 consecutive years she has been listed by Chambers & Partners in the “White Collar Crime”-category and is also regularly recognised by Trend, Handelsblatt, Leaders League and other media as a top defence lawyer.
Besides her studies in Austria, Dr. Paulitsch also studied at the Law School at the Oklahoma University/USA and advises international clients in English.
